Gradually, many iPhone and iPad users are being pushed by Apple or third-party applications to activate two-factor authentication or text messaged short codes to guarantee their identity when checking in to an app or a service.
As a consequence, your smartphone may accumulate a large number of messages over time, particularly if you use a large number of applications and services that you often log in and out of. As a result, there may be a construction in your Messages app that consumes a significant amount of RAM on your smartphone. And believe me, you don’t want to remove them manually since it’s a time-consuming and inconvenient procedure.
Arcas, an iOS developer, has released a new jailbreak modification that may assist you with this. NoMoreShortCodes is a new and free jailbreak modification that deletes messages containing short codes after a certain amount of time. This would be tremendously beneficial since it would allow the user to immediately erase all two-factor authentication and short code messages from their Messages app after they had served their purpose. You won’t have to deal with as much junk in the Messages app, and you won’t have to find time to manually remove them later.
After installing this tweak, a separate preference pane in the Settings app will be created where the user may adjust the tweak as desired. Here are some of the choices available in Settings:
- You can toggle NoMoreShortCodes on and off anytime you want.
- To confirm that you want the communications removed, turn on the Agree to Terms toggle button.
- Input the amount of seconds after which a message will be erased (the default value is 60 seconds). Allow yourself ample time to see and utilize the message code before deleting it.)
- Check the amount of messages erased using the NoMoreShortCodes setting.
- Restart the device to save the changes you’ve made.
Many users may believe that they do not need the NoMoreShortCodes adjustment, yet it is a useful one to have. We all receive these shortcodes from applications or services to prove our identity and have to either go back and erase those messages or wait for their Messages app to get congested, which is both frustrating.
So, if you want to check out the new NoMoreShortCodes modification, you can just download it for free from the Twickd repository using your preferred package manager. This modification works with jailbroken iOS 13 and 14 devices.
